The Yearbook of Arboriculture (Jahrbuch der Baumpflege) is published every year for the Deutsche Baumpflegetage in Augsburg (German only).

 

German Tree Care Conference 2013

This year’s German tree care conference in Augsburg takes place from April 23rd to April 25th. In 2013 there are again two professional partners: the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (Bundesamt für Naturschutz) and the SAG Baumstatik. Based on this co-operation we have planned the following main focus themes: Nature conservation, tree statics and arboriculture as well as tree diseases and tree inspection.
Reknowned speakers from Germany and abroad will present the latest information adapted to practical use.

Review

The 20th German tree care conference 2012 in Augsburg took place from May 8th to May 10th. Again more than 1,000 participants and trade show visitors came to Augsburg. There were various interesting presentations on the main focus themes of the conference:

  • gardening shows, protection of species and habitats
  • tree care and tree protection
  • tree inspection and tree diseases
  • tree climbing and safety

Lively discussions followed some of the presentations. All participants unanimously thought that the musical prelude of the band "Klingendes Totholz" was one of the highlights. This year's practical presentations were impressive again. Above all the planting of a big tree on the occation of the anniversary, the presentation with a mobile crane, the search dogs working in the field of arboriculture as well as the practical presentations in the tree climbing forum have to be mentioned.

The Yearbook of Arboriculture has become a useful reference book for the field of arboriculture over the years. Together with this year's anniversary issue this series of books presents more than 500 articles with up-to-date knowledge.

Like every year the BaumZeitung presents news and highlights of the German tree care conference in Augsburg. A special article on the 20th anniversary additionally tells the story of how the German tree care conference continuously developed from 1993 until today.
